GDPR-aware, data stays put

Professional-services firms live and die by chargeable time, yet partners and fee-earners lose hours every week to enquiry triage, document review, file notes, time recording and compliance checks. Debut Web Consultants builds AI that absorbs that load — slotting into your practice management system, document store and client comms rather than forcing you onto another platform. We work with law firms, accountancy practices, management consultancies and chartered surveyors across Manchester and the wider UK.

The challenge

Where professional services teams lose time

Non-billable admin erodes margin

Drafting routine correspondence, writing attendance notes, raising matters and chasing missing time entries are necessary but unbillable. Every hour spent on them is an hour off the WIP ledger, and across a fee-earning team it quietly compounds into lost revenue.

Document-heavy work doesn't scale

Due diligence bundles, lease packs, contracts, statutory accounts and survey reports demand careful reading. Throwing more juniors at a data room is expensive and inconsistent, and the senior review that follows still has to catch what was missed.

Intake is slow and leaky

New enquiries arrive by phone, web form and email at all hours. Conflict checks, AML/KYC onboarding and matter set-up take days, and prospects who don't get a fast, clear response simply instruct the firm that called them back first.

Compliance risk is constant

SRA, ICAEW, RICS and FCA obligations, AML rules, conflicts and limitation dates all carry real penalties for slips. Manual checks rely on individuals remembering to run them, and an audit trail assembled after the fact is rarely the one you want.

What we build

AI we build for professional services

Intake & qualification agents

An AI agent that answers web and email enquiries instantly, captures matter details, runs first-pass conflict and eligibility questions, books consultations into fee-earners' diaries and hands a clean, structured brief to the responsible partner — out of hours included.

Document review & due diligence AI

RAG systems that read contracts, leases, statutory accounts and data-room bundles, extract key clauses, dates, parties and figures, flag anomalies and produce a first-draft review note — turning days of junior reading into a senior sign-off.

Knowledge & precedent assistant

A private assistant grounded in your own precedents, matter files, technical guidance and prior advice, so fee-earners get a sourced answer with citations instead of emailing three colleagues — your knowledge, not the open internet.

Time-recording & file-note automation

AI that drafts attendance notes from call recordings or short prompts, suggests narratives and time entries against the right matter, and pushes them into your practice management system so WIP is captured the day it happens, not reconstructed at month end.

Client communications agents

Voice and chat agents that handle status enquiries, payment chasers, appointment changes and document requests, drafting client-ready updates in your firm's tone and escalating anything sensitive to a named fee-earner.

Compliance & onboarding automation

Multi-agent workflows that orchestrate AML/KYC checks, conflict searches, engagement-letter generation and limitation-date tracking, leaving a complete, timestamped audit trail ready for an SRA, ICAEW or RICS inspection.

FAQ

Professional Services AI questions

Is our client data safe with AI?

Yes. We build on UK and EU-hosted infrastructure, use enterprise models that don't train on your data, and keep confidential material inside your own environment. Access is role-controlled and every action is logged, which matters as much for SRA and ICAEW obligations as it does for client confidence.

Will this replace fee-earners?

No. The aim is to remove the non-billable drag — admin, first-pass reading, file notes, intake triage — so qualified people spend more time on advice clients actually pay for. Judgement, sign-off and the client relationship stay firmly with your team.

Can AI integrate with our practice management system?

Generally yes. We integrate with systems such as Clio, LEAP, Actionstep, Xero, IRIS and others via API, so time entries, matters and documents flow into the tools your firm already runs rather than creating a parallel system.

How accurate is AI document review?

Our systems use retrieval-augmented generation grounded in the actual documents and always cite the source passage, so a fee-earner can verify each point. It's designed as a first-pass reviewer that surfaces clauses, dates and anomalies for human sign-off — not an unsupervised final decision.

Does AI help with AML and compliance obligations?

It does. We automate AML/KYC onboarding, conflict checks, engagement-letter generation and limitation-date tracking, with a complete timestamped audit trail. That makes routine compliance more consistent and far easier to evidence during a regulatory inspection.

Do you work with firms outside Manchester?

Yes. We're a Manchester team and work with plenty of firms across the North West, but we deliver remotely for professional-services clients throughout the UK — from London consultancies to regional accountancy and surveying practices.

Bring us a professional services workflow you'd hand to a machine.

We'll tell you straight whether AI is the answer — and if it is, we'll build it. Manchester-based, fixed-price scopes.
